The innovative project “Legends of Disability” is implemented within the framework of the   Active citizens fund program *  with the implementation of Challedu- inclusion | games | education and their partners Perpato, Best Buddies and Frodizo. It aims to empower people with disabilities of all ages and skills through the promotion of Role models-Disabled who have made significant contributions to sectors of society (eg science, arts, sports, business).

The goal of the "Legends of Disability" program is to inspire people with disabilities through Role Models to become active members of society, while providing awareness-education about their rights to the public. Through the game Legends of Disability and the educational package that accompanies it, people with disabilities are inspired by Role-Models. In addition, by participating in game co-creation festivals, they express their needs and create in collaboration with experts. At the same time, the public becomes aware and actively contributes to the creation of tools-games. In playtesting workshops, games are perfected as tools-methods and come to contribute both to the daily lives of people with disabilities and their inclusion by the local community.

The € 12m Active citizens fund program is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the European Economic Area (EEA) funding mechanism for the period 2014 - 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and enhance the sustainability of civil society and to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, enhancing citizen participation in the community and defending human rights. The management of the Active citizens fund program for Greece has been jointly undertaken by the Bodosakis Foundation and SolidarityNow.
