In May of 2015, the project of the innovative program " Care of memory at home" by the Association Frodizo(with the kind donation of the Public Benefit Foundation TIMA) began and was completed in December 2016. Under the program received 76 services (seventy-six) people with dementia and their families, making more than 3,000 (three thousand) home visits. The program «Care of the memory at home" has made a significant improvement in the daily lives of people with dementia and their caregivers, something that came from the measurable elements of pre- and post-intervention evaluations in both target groups. Under this program the following actions were completed : · Mental and physical empowerment to people with dementia in order to strengthen their cognitive functions, to maintain their autonomy and functionality as well as to improve their quality of life. At the same time, the family caregivers of the patients were trained on the empowerment procedures. · Care counselors to manage the burden arising from care. · Counseling at the giving of nursing care to people with dementia and safe living in their home. · Seminars for family caregivers with issues of Mindfulness management of Dementia and unloading for caregivers those operate in addition to the home counseling provided.
